The Drava cycling route

The 710 km long route runs along the Drava River through 4 countries. The route starts near the source of the Drava River near Toblach in Italy, continues through Austrian Carinthia and Slovenia through Dravograd, to Maribor and Ptuj, all the way to the Slovenian-Croatian border in Ormož, all the way to Legrad, where the Mura River flows into the Drava.

Krajinski park Šturmovec

Access to the Šturmovec Landscape Park is possible from both sides of the Drava, from the left bank via the dam in Markovci or the right bank through the village of Videm pri Ptuju. There is a 3 km long nature trail with a few observation points through the park. Signposts were installed back in 1993 by the Slovenian Bird Observation and Study Society (DOPPS). A walk through the park is wonderful in all seasons, and bird lovers would especially enjoy visiting it. A particularly beautiful view of the magical landscape along the Drava opens up to the visitor from the nearby Haloze hills near Videm pri Ptuj (Dravinjski vrh, Vareja), while its larger tributary the Dravinja can also be seen. Ptujska gora

Ptujska Gora is a clustered settlement at the top of the Savinsko ridge along the Ptuj-Majšperk road, with a core around the parish and pilgrimage church of Mary, which is also the biggest local attraction. You can access it by car, on foot or by bicycle. Other attractions include the Church of St. Mary the Protectress with a Mantle, the Column of Shame, Old Town House, Plague Column, tumuli and Paleta Gallery.

Cvetlin – Pusti  Duh – Ravna gora

An undemanding hiking trail in Croatia, only 24.7 km from the Vila Leskovec suites, at an altitude difference of 440 m, will not leave you indifferent. You can combine the hike with a climb to Pusti Duh and a visit to Trakošćan Castle. The duration of the hike is approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.

Bračič mountain trail

The Bračič mountain trail is a circular route and starts in front of the birthplace of Dr Vladimir Bračič in Cirkulane and ends here. It is divided into three stages and belongs to the easy routes in terms of difficulty. The first stage runs from Cirkulan through Brezovec, Gruškovec, Meje, Medribnik and Paradiž. The second stage includes the following settlements: Paradiž, Pohorje, Mali okič, Slatina, Pristava, Gradišča and ends in Dolane. The third stage continues the journey through Dolane, Veliki vrh, again through a part of Brezovec and Dolane and back to Cirkulane. The route runs through all the settlements of the municipality of Cirkulane. The walking time for the entire route is around 12 hours. The route is about 44 kilometres long. There are 8 checkpoints on it. Throughout the walk, we are accompanied by beautiful views of the nearby surrounding peaks, vineyards and the typical Haloze landscape, which always drew Dr Vladimir Bračič back to his birthplace.
